Chennai Super Kings Confident MS Dhoni Will Play Despite Injury, Ben Stokes and Deepak Chahar's Recovery Updates Revealed

The Chennai Super Kings management remains optimistic about MS Dhoni's participation in the ongoing IPL 2023 season, despite him nursing a knee injury that has limited his movements. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed that Dhoni has not indicated any intention to miss games due to the injury, stating, "He will play." Coach Stephen Fleming acknowledged Dhoni's injury but praised his professionalism and dedication to the team. Dhoni, known for playing through injuries, has retired from international cricket and has the flexibility to continue playing for CSK despite not being at 100% fitness.

On the other hand, CSK's star all-rounder Ben Stokes is expected to miss at least three more games as he recovers from a left toe injury sustained while bowling. CSK CEO Viswanathan provided an update on Stokes' recovery, stating that he is progressing well and should be fit for the April 30th game against Punjab Kings, with a possibility of returning earlier for the April 27th match against Rajasthan Royals.

Meanwhile, Deepak Chahar, a key player for CSK, is expected to take longer to recover from his injury and may be available during the first week of May. CSK's management is hopeful that Chahar will return to action by then. Both Stokes and Chahar will continue to travel with the team, receiving support from the franchise's staff.

In addition, CSK will be without Sisanda Magala, who is expected to take at least a week to recover after being unable to complete his quota of overs against Rajasthan Royals.

CSK's current record in IPL 2023 stands at two wins and two losses. Their next game is an away match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 17th.
